Depression & Low Mood

Counselling and Hypnotherapy at Illuminated MInds Clinic in Hyde. BACP & CNHC Registered

Everyone has days when they feel down. But when low mood lingers, life can start to feel heavy, flat or hard to get through. Things you used to enjoy may lose their colour, and even small tasks can take a lot of energy.

You might feel tired, disconnected, or stuck, and it can be hard to explain to others what’s happening. You might simply feel you’re not yourself.

How therapy can help

Therapy offers a steady, unhurried space where you can be heard without having to put on a brave face. Together, we can explore what’s been weighing on you, notice what helps even a little, and begin finding your footing again, at a pace that feels right for you.

Choosing how we work

There are three ways we can work together. You choose whichever feels right, and you can change your mind at any point: integrative work is flexible and built around your needs and wishes.

  1. Counselling on its own. Space to talk about what’s been happening, make sense of how you feel, and explore what might be contributing to it. I can weave in CBT, solution-focused approaches and mindfulness practices where they help.
  2. Hypnotherapy on its own. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, looking at small positive steps, with guided relaxation in hypnosis to help reduce stress and lift some of the weight you’ve been carrying.
  3. A mixture of both. For example, talking things through in counselling, with hypnotherapy sessions alongside or later on.

Not sure which to choose? We can talk it through on your free call.
