Fears & Phobias
Fear is a natural response that helps keep us safe. But when a fear becomes overwhelming, out of proportion, or starts to shape your choices, it can make your world feel smaller.
You might find yourself avoiding places, situations or experiences, such as flying, driving, needles, spiders, crowds or the dentist, even when part of you knows the fear doesn’t quite add up. That can be frustrating and tiring.
How therapy can help
Together, we can work at your pace to loosen the hold that fear has on your life, so you can feel more at ease and do more of the things that matter to you. You’ll always be in control of how quickly we go.
Choosing how we work
There are three ways we can work together. You choose whichever feels right, and you can change your mind at any point: integrative work is flexible and built around your needs and wishes.
- Counselling on its own. Space to understand where the fear comes from and how it affects you, weaving in CBT, solution-focused approaches and mindfulness practices where they help.
- Hypnotherapy on its own. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with guided relaxation in hypnosis, using positive suggestions to help you feel calmer and more confident facing what you’ve been avoiding.
- A mixture of both. For example, talking things through in counselling, with hypnotherapy sessions alongside or later on.
Not sure which to choose? We can talk it through on your free call.
